Very true, there is a common model for company growth.

At certain maturity the there is not much more revenue to win quickly and high costs need to be cut.

Could agree, the academic math notation is a skill on it's own to wrap the mind around.

Last time in a corp, a data schema like thrift or protobuf worked well as an interface between C++ projects. In one experimental engine editor would consume structs by RTTI, but it's not standard across projects either :D
