Damn, it is no coincidence that the Marvel Ultimates and the Absolute DC have risen during this time in our history.

The ending was ... it was rough. Not just in an emotional way, but it just ended in exposition: just as the whole plot got changed by Leder in an info dump. I can see why this would annoy people. But, despite all that, and the fact that I left all my Mementos in the Wagon, I did enjoy this game. #M3

I know Mother 3 was supposed to have been a N64 game. Then it was made for the Gameboy Advance. And perhaps somewhere in that, when it was supposed to be 12 chapters, it had to be reduced to 8 because of financial backing perhaps? I know Nintendo was not always good to this series. #mother3

I finally finished Mother 3. I played a port of the fan translation on my DS.

This game ... it was an experience. It was at turns weird, frustrating, infuriating, wonderful, quirky, and brutally poignant. You can tell things did not go as planned when it was designed. #mother3

@chuggaaconroy.bsky.social That all said, I am enjoying the game, and meeting Dr. Andonuts again, and having that cup of coffee with Mr. Saturn really made me smile and remember why I was playing this. #Mother3

@chuggaaconroy.bsky.social I have been going through my first playthrough of Mother 3. Playing it on my DS. I had actually played all the way to Ice Cap Mountain without finding Kumatora, and I have reason to believe you can relate to almost missing her. I had to backtrack. That hurt.

@philnobilejr.bsky.social We saw Reflection in a Dead Diamond at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival as well, in the same that showed Queens of the Dead opening night.

@philnobilejr.bsky.social I don't know if you saw it already, but there is a film by Bruno Forzani and Hélène Cattet called Reflection in a Dead Diamond, that is totally up your alley: especially as the protagonist is modelled after a similar type, and trope, to one Mr. Bond.

I'm just imagining an adventurer party with a Human magician, her Monster Turtle companion, and other Humans and Monsters -- maybe even a Darkner friend or two. A table-top or open world #Undertale #Deltarune RPG would be amazing. @tobyfox.undertale.com

I have to say @tobyfox.undertale.com that in light of a lore drop from Gerson Boom, I would love to see an #Undertale or #Deltarune table-top RPG, or an RPG where you can make your own Human, Monster, or Darkner characters in different eras.

It's funny: I was cursing at the ant for not providing a tutorial, but the Sleep advice it gave and then getting Battle Memory in the library, it provides more help. I just need to see some playthroughs and maybe I can get better. Getting some Mario RPG timed hit vibes and I love it. #Mother3

I finished Chapter 1 of #Mother3, and I am going through Chapter 2 now.

Wow. I have to say that the Battle Rhythm is so much fun. It turns out sometimes I was doing it unconsciously. I don't have it precisely down, but with time I think I could. Also, Battle Memory is immensely useful.

Dammit, Sans. This is more funny than it should be:

I just have to say:
the people of Tazmily Village are kind of terrible, at least *some* of them. That is not how you talk to someone after a loss. You would think there would be some basic empathy in general.

I came across #Undertale due to Game Grumps' Steam Train. They played the first part & told us to go play it ourselves. I did. It was rare that I did more than watch games get played then, but that combination of meta-narrative & memetic culture & heart. I never looked back. @tobyfox.undertale.com

So I just started playing Mother 3 and wow, I am not even done the first part yet and there is already mood whiplash. Mother 2, EarthBound, did not prepare me for this experience.

It just started off so innocently, and man, that tone changed so fast. I look forward to more.

Dammit @tobyfox.undertale.com I vowed to Sans and that blasted flower not to come back, but then you do this thing on your Anniversary Stream & now I feel like I need to go back. Maybe it will be ok on a Switch, as I passed it through Steam last time ...

This is all new.

I'm also not going to lie, as difficult as it was -- and creepy as the implications could be -- Eram, or the Mantle owner -- was right. Along with Kris, I really enjoyed playing that Sword Route. I am always a Pacifist player, but every once and a while I do enjoy knowing I can destroy #Deltarune
September 16, 2025 at 6:44 PM
I won't lie. The real impetus behind me fighting the Superbosses of #Deltarune was knowing about the Old Man ... and being able to challenge him. I did it for Susie. And I did it for me. Anyone who knows me may well know why. And when I challenged him, I knew I couldn't go half-ass about it.

I know that Christopher Lee was Ian Fleming's cousin, and that he himself played the antagonist Scaramanga as a darker counterpart to the agent. I was just curious to see your take, assuming of course you haven't written about that somewhere else too. @philnobilejr.bsky.social
September 15, 2025 at 9:35 PM
Hello @philnobilejr.bsky.social. I wanted to ask you what you would have thought of a Christopher Lee James Bond. I was watching something the other night about how he had a interpretation of the character's flawed & brutal nature and what that performance could've been.
