Not that hard to imagine. If Trump manages to wait till after the Canadian elections to spit on free trade and Canadian independence I think poilievre walks it in. The American nightmare is unique but voting morons lurk in every electorate.

It's not a perfect comparison, but you might consider the entire newspaper industry. At it's height it was getting in front of a pretty big percentage of the nation's eyes

I have seen this before, but I've never seen an explanation for it. What is the motivation behind changing the word folks?

It would appear that this was a poorly timed post that didn't have to do with the Nazi tattoo guy. Crazy how failing to universally rebuke Nazi tattoo guys results in lots of chaos and crossfire. I would just say Nazi tattoos aren't welcome as democratic party candidates.

Sure! I think elder statesmen and stateswomen should recognize the inevitability of time and step aside as is appropriate. I don't think we have to have hard and fast age limits, but we do have to expect leaders to do the plainly right thing. Also don't vote for the guy with the Nazi tattoo

I warned my younger sister that she should never date a Republican man under 35. I just don't believe that cohort has a moral compass.

Oh I was comparing property costs rather than rental costs. Raleigh is way less affordable than it's reputation suggests in terms of housing though. It's starting to trend better from a rental perspective, but the hay day of cheap Raleigh housing was before 2016. Home prices are still quite high

Well I was comparing it to Raleigh North Carolina, which is where I was visiting from. I think the two cities compare pretty well.
September 26, 2025 at 6:25 PM
It felt like there was a lot of affordable housing stock in Pittsburgh when I visited last year.

The idea makes me feel sick
September 26, 2025 at 2:18 AM
Raleigh North Carolina has been trying to implement this pattern, but it's very challenging politically. Also coordination with the many municipalities makes it very hard to achieve good results.

The left behind kids books messed with me something fierce as a kid. IDK why my family got so into the whole genre when we weren't even religious really.
