Haha yes! As an adult, I discovered the 1/2 packets of the powdered cheese in a cabinet. That was when she told me she saved it back for Thanksgiving bc she thought it was cheesy enough with half (it sure was not), and bc she’d learned to ration other things like that during the Great Depression.

My grandma, who lived through the Great Depression, saved back half of every early fall Mac n cheese packet for her scalloped potatoes at thanksgiving.
