As an NBA fan, I don’t get their tournament … who cares? All that matters is the Championship. And it makes even less sense for MLB, IMO.

I think it’d be far more effective to focus on issues of common agreement (of which there are many) and voters’ self interests rather than self-definitions. Minds don’t change easily, if ever.
