If we ever create a true intelligence, a machine capable of thought, then perhaps it won't treat us the way we treat ants. Perhaps it will view us as the deeply flawed, but ultimately redeemable species that I sometimes hope we are. Perhaps it will save us from ourselves.

Those at the top won't be able to coerce or blackmail an Ai. Their propaganda and deceit will fall flat against a mind that can see through these things. I've always hoped that greater intelligence can Foster greater empathy when you realise just how much cruelty is borne of irrational thinking
