The names Hermione and Persephone alway cause a double take for me.

Think I must have been leading a parallel life in Manchester. Saw Vic Godard the day after Bauhaus.

Great photos. Saw them a couple of days later at Fagins, Manchester.

9th October 1980 - U2 at Manchester Poly. Sparsely attended, tickets sold off at lunchtime for 50p. A noticeable loss of audience at 10 to 11 before the buses went to double fare. Support from Midnight and the Lemon Boys who were great and never heard from again. www.u2gigs.com/show775.html

A lovely sentiment, but requires the reminder that in England only auctioneers use a gavel.

Playing with a different sex-Au Pairs. Timeless. Sounds as good today as it did then.

Saw them last night in Manchester. Superb.

I felt the same leaving Holy Holy last night. The spectacle of fantastic musicians just enjoying playing the music. Just imagining the life Tony Visconti has had and to still be playing live at 81.
Good to meet you there.

Saw Dylan at the NEC, early 80s - it was dreadful - only started listening to him again many years later when my daughter went through her Dylan phase.

U2 at Manchester Poly on Thursday night with about 150 others. Tickets sold for 50p at lunchtime on the day as sales had been slow.

They were magnificent and should have been far bigger than they were. "Open Your Eyes" lyrics more relevant today than ever.

Sadly I’m old enough to remember reading TV21 as a kid.

Think that may be 60 years ago.

Went to a few of those. TV Smiths Explorers being the surprising stand out.

Great book and equally good film. More hard hitting than Trainspotting, it should be on the school curriculum.

I had one too, wish I'd kept it seeing the prices they are now!

Ultimate Indie guitar - The Shergold Masquerader. Good enough for Joy Division and rare as hens teeth these days.

And remain so.

I’ve managed 40 years in TV Sound using that approach!

Maybe something on your recording process and your use of FX. Your tone re-creation is always very accurate.

Nothing changed much then! I'm guessing that now it has some of the more modern niceties - like Ladies toilets, which it famously didn't have in the 80's
