Our sky turned red. In black summer, Australia stepped off ‘some kind of precipice’
The black summer bushfires heralded the beginning of a time when we realised the world as we knew it was gone. Five years later, we still space for grief, anger and political action

Some news from down under! The Unruly Ocean (coauthored with Erika Techera) has just been published by Routledge! Also my plans for a quieter 2025 have been quietly shelved with a Tasmanian State Library & Archives research fellowship on Tasmania’s Antarctic connections.

Scott Reef’s a rare, unspoiled gem home to endangered sea snakes, turtles & manta rays.
