I've published a research paper with colleagues arguing that News Corp used reporting and commentary during the Voice referendum to advocate for and in concert with the 'No' campaign. It is an open access paper, available and summarised here 👇 Please share!

News Corp using content for conservative political advocacy
News Corp's political influence is strong enough to sway public opinion and urgently needs scrutiny, particularly in an election year.

It didn’t seem to matter how many times American voters were warned that Trump and his MAGA movement are white supremacists, Nazi-loving fascists, they were determined to elect him anyway to … check notes … troll the liberal left. Do any of those voters look at this and cringe now? No? 😳
The entire nation of Australia gets it. Media in that country are having to blur what Elon Musk did twice in public today because of laws there regarding the Nazi salute.

I respect and appreciate that Prince Harry pursued this case to bring accountability for unethical practices at Murdoch’s Sun newspaper. Once again, Murdoch has settled rather than go to trial to avoid all the lurid details coming out.

We need to start a new identity politics movement called “you do you”. It could also be called “mind your own business”. If someone else chooses gender fluidity, what’s it to you? If you choose not to have an abortion and someone else chooses to have one, it’s none of your business! You do you! #YDY

Which Australian media outlets scrutinised Dutton’s nuclear “plan” which he snuck out before Christmas, and which were disappointedly either stenographers or propagandists? I’ve done the analysis👇🏻

Media coverage of Dutton’s nuclear 'plan': Scrutiny, stenography or propaganda
Unsurprisingly, the conservative media has failed to scrutinise Peter Dutton's nuclear plan, once again displaying bias towards the Coalition.
