When Alexander Dumas wrote "The Count of Monte Cristo" as a serialized novel in a newspaper for which he was paid, the excitement generated by each chapter resulted in people breaking into the newspaper to steal the galley proofs before publication. Now that is excitement!

Did this a few times. Only downside was it all tasted the same.
