Some photos from a busy weekend gaming. Galactic Cruise (with Accommodations and Attractions expansions), Finspan, Lure. Also Blood on the Clocktower and So Clover. Only disappointment was not getting time to fit in Things in Rings for a first play.

Galactic Cruise from @kinsonkeygames.bsky.social came in this week. We'd played it a couple of times before on TTS but this was our first in person game. 3.5 hours for 2p, but I'm sure that will come down a lot. Need a big table though! @the1ben.bsky.social

There were 27 new-to-me games in 2024. Other than those listed above, I quite enjoyed Apiary, Wyrmspan, Freelancers, Distilled, and Harmonies (which wins "most likely to be available at regular-people retail in the next few years".)

Bring on 2025! (17/17)

And I played 14 hours on Tabletop Simulator of Galactic Cruise by @kinsonkeygames.bsky.social, which I should be receiving my crowdfunded copy of in Feb/Mar. Very much looking forward to getting it physically to a very large table. #galacticcruise (16/17)

Rounding out some other notable games this year, I'm 16 hours into exploring Earthborne Rangers by Earthborne Games which I only just started in the last few weeks. It's showing a fair bit of promise. I'll solo it if my regular crew ends up having too much else to play. #earthbornerangers (15/17)

At 29 hours played we have the game that defined 2024 for me - Blood on the Clocktower by Stephen Medway and the Pandemonium Institute. I spent many more hours watching and thinking about this game than I actually played it. #botc #bloodontheclocktower (8/17)

We spent 30 hours this year playing 7th Citadel by Serious Poulp with @the1ben.bsky.social through the first main story arc. I think 7th Continent holds a closer place in my heart due to the wonder in first discovering that system and the world they built... #7thcitadel (6/17)

Coming in at 42 hours collectively played, it's Imperium: Classics/Legends/Horizons by Nigel Buckle and David Turczi. It wasn't even on my radar this time last year, but after hearing it was a strategic deck builder that was highly regarded by the solo community, I decided to take a punt. (4/17)

At 55 hours played, Spirit Island by @rericreuss.bsky.social remains the king. Such incredible variety. Each game has a lovely arc. You have a lot of control to ratchet the difficulty just how you like it. This year was driven by getting to know the Nature Incarnate expansion. #spiritisland (2/17)

2024 was another great year for boardgaming. My end of year stats are quite different to how I'd have guessed this time last year. (Summary image from the @bgstatsapp.bsky.social app.) #boardgames #tabletop #bgstats (1/17)

A window into me putting the character cards onto the next Clocktower video in Davinci Resolve.

Ran my first Clocktower game with a Lunatic last night. The player who got the role was the only person who didn't see Bad Moon Rising last week, and hadn't played for a while. I was worried they could have felt cheated but thankfully they were tickled instead. #botc

Today was Harmonies (feat. @dragonray.bsky.social ) and several games of Dorfromantik. Taking leave to spend time with friends has been A+. Would like to do again. Tomorrow. And next week.

Finally got a chance to play Freelancers this week. We loved Forgotten Waters. Genuinely funny.

A few mechanisms were improved, and I like the combining of race and class, although the personal stories took a little bit of a back seat.

Here is a shot from yesterday of @siandart.bsky.social piloting two spirits in Spirit Island, including probably the hardest one from Nature Incarnate. This wasn't posed at all. She was just thinking hard.

A special #caturday today as we welcome to our family Ludovic Mac Feegle. "Ludo" has more love coming to him than he's going to know what to do with. @siandart.bsky.social

@425suzanne.bsky.social @613mandi.bsky.social Did something happen with the podcast feed? I see a new video clip with Valentine's games but I don't think I got that episode. Thanks for the entertaining content.
