If Twitter's apocalypse did nothing else for you, it was to drive you to actually start using WhatsApp rather than Twitter DMs.

Just have them drive you all the way to Vegas. Seems they'd fit right in.

But scads? At that point, choice becomes a burden, rather than liberating. You talk with a lot of customers/developers, however, and may see it differently.

Do you think AWS should ever be "less AWS" and offer more opinionated infrastructure? I can see it both ways, but admit I found Jassy's talk track about "we're going to give you all the models you could possibly want and let you figure it out" to be...not customer obsessed. A few primitives, yes.

And also never *not* going to compete with their partners. At their scale, it's sort of inevitable. One question will be whether they do any better with recommending models for customers than they've done with, dare I say, databases?
