🌊 How much of our #oceans are protected?

Across OECD countries, 23.4% of national waters in 2024 were protected, still short of the 30% by 2030 target.
In 2024 data shows that just 0.72% of the high seas were protected.

By 2050, climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution are projected to worsen, and their negative effects are expected to exacerbate each other.
