They've earned enough good will. They are allowed a stumble. Im willing to wait another expansion to see where it might go before making a hard decision of stay/leave.

For you specifically, you have such a long and storied career as someone who adores and respects artists that I would never assume you used Gen AI in any project or product you did.
To a random person off the street, or a large corporation? Yea, gonna need a bit more reassurence.

Thats fair, yea. I generally just do the first game, and youtube the content added in any sort of "updated" version. Did that for P4 and P5, but I also did that for Pokemon games like Crystal, Emerald, etc.

Im generally willing to come back to a long form game if a huge DLC drops for it or theres a massive overhaul to mechanics thats free. If I have to buy the entire game over again, thats a hard pass.

Unfortunately, Dynamis is totally dead. I personally dont bother queuing for anything on my home server, I go to Crystal/Primal/Aether instead.
Dynamis's only use, imo, is potential savings on the MB and much easier housing to obtain because its so dead.

I mean they arent relevant to MOST of the playerbase. Unless there are specific things you are working on that you bring friends with or organize on a discord, they are total graveyards. Maps in other MMOs have way more activity in them.

Yea, thats my biggest gripe with maps. Unless your doing FATE grinds, Hunt trains, or crafting, a map is JUST set dressing for the MSQ. Nothing to do, nothing to see, nothing to explore.

As someone who relies on them, you are absolutely correct. I personally have a lot of anxiety to "doing decent enough" in a fight and know what's going on. If I had NO guide available to me in an EX, I'd just not even bother.

Exactly the same for me. That was the part that made me go "Okay, need to see what this game is about". Hilariously, I wasnt spoiled on HW or StB, so those story elements I went in fresh.

Just want to make it clear, if you enjoy "In from the Cold" in its entirety, good for you. But yes, I think its ending ruins the quest entirely. Its akin to a plot point happening and the character waking up from a bad dream, without it ever being mentioned again.

I did it twice, don't recall them saying it was temporary. Regardless of that, setting something up and then saying "Don't worry, it'll wear off later" is a HORRIBLE way to create tension.

Eh, I was never a fan of "In From The Cold", its a black mark on what was a great expansion. (Not for the usual reasons tho).
It had a fantastic setup and a great stressful sequence, and then the villain just goes " lol, bored now, fixing it". For me, just completely took the wind out of it.

If your only concerns are better specs and the convenience of not having to set up gamepass on the steam PC, then yeah, keep to Xbox.

I legit can't think of any titles that are explicitly only on Xbox and not also on the PC Microsoft Store. Steam? Sure.

I mean, this is an MMO with a crazy collection of aesthetics. There's cyberpunk, Greek gods, fairies, Cowboys, Japan, etc. all in the same setting. There has never been a set aesthetic, so them removing glam restrictions doesn't affect any art direction, imo.

I would legit welcome a reset. I'm one of those weirdos that resents all the 3rd party characters added. A return to a Melee-sized roster of just Nintendo characters (They have enough currently that they could guarantee no clones or echoes) would be really nice.
