Yeah it definitely has a leg over the Q2, could bring potentially people that were still using it and were waiting for an alternative. It's honestly going to come down to the price, if it is as accessible as a Q3 then at least they can fill a portion of the VR niche, but if it's 650-700 or more...

It's laughable that after the bang they created with the Index and HL Alyx, this felt more like a wet fart. Where the hell are the VR games? The headset runs ARM so now they want quest devs to port their games over? It's such a mess honestly

Exactly my thoughts, who is this even for? It's not for the enthusiast, it's not for the quest user, it's not for the index user that has been invested into base station setups for years. It's for the hypothetical deck user that...doesn't have a tv to play it on a bigger screen?

That is to say, Frame will be competitive at 500-550, a harder sell at 600 and completely DoA beyond 650. The rudimentary eye tracking and the specs won’t make Q3 users pay 100 or more, in my opinion.

The ~5% overall gain for the lenses and being slightly lighter won’t be a selling point for the mass audience of the Q3, that’s why I struggle to see the Frame past the clear link to Deck users that don’t already have a headset

Totally agree with the beyond, I just have a hard time seeing this as an upgrade from a Quest 3. Same lenses, similar resolution, similar fov, higher max hz but worse passthrough cameras. If you are someone that buys a Quest 3 is most likely because of affordability, 500 is appealing for the specs.

Yeah the Beyond 2 really is a no brainer as long as you don’t mind the cabling, kind of a slap in the face to announce a dated headset after such a long wait. They don’t wanna make a Deck 2 cause they want a “leap in technology”, wish they did the same for this headset.

Same, for us Pro users it’s a slight bump in resolution per eye, but you go from QLED to LCD and lose Local Dimming. I think it’s overall a loss for someone looking to swap headsets, between that and the limited eye tracking/no face tracking

And something I haven't seen many talk about, if you have interest on eye tracking, the Frame will not work as well as the one found in Quest Pro or other headsets with those features. It has only one camera per each inner eye, exclusively to capture pupil data. Expressions will be limited with it.

And not even just gag, but straight up you are less than dirt/non-existent if you don't use the type of avatar they like, doesn't matter if you're the nicest person on the planet. Which is ironic, because some of the most vile people I've met are boothers who hate anything that isn't anime avatars.

All sides of the community have its problems, but I feel like no other community hates just the mere presence of other types of avatars like the booth one does. Furries don't seem to care about what you use, Gumroads don't care, but Booths gag at anything that isn't an anime girl on their screens.

It's easy to see that most people won't really bother talking to you if they don't want something from you (cuddling/erp or both) and if you have nothing to give in that space you're not that interesting to engage with. Also the more engaged english booth community is really not that great.
