Just to be pedantic, another fun fact: The first instance of DEI is often considered to be when, in the late 19th century, military veterans were given preference for certain government positions.

Gee... I mean, it's not like the current president got SCOTUS to declare that presidents can get away with doing illegal things, or re-ran for office to avoid his convictions on 34 felonies or his punishments for the other legal cases he's lost...

I can't find the screenshot or failed to take it, but someone else said that "DEI was created *not* to give jobs to unqualified minorities, but to hire qualified minorities for the jobs that would normally be handed to unqualified white men just because they're white men."
