I wonder if we'll ever get the immersion from a (vanilla) TES game, that if you place skooma in front of one of these people, they actually pick it up and consume it right in front of you (and perhaps even thank you).

My experience with mint as a "beginner" was bad. It felt sluggish and user-unfriendly (if that's a word) in comparison to say Kubuntu.
Before Mint I only ever used Fedora through a VM on Windows for work, which I ended up prefering.
This was in early ~2019, so maybe things are just better now.
