Everything is garlic. I can no longer smell garlic. My eyes are still stinging so I assume the fumes are still present. But I honestly couldn't tell you whether I - or my hands, my clothes, or anything else in this flat - smells of garlic

We genuinely cannot smell garlic anymore and have no idea how much - or indeed, if - we smell of garlic.

I should mention that I've been out as queer longer than this student has been alive! So after assuring her that I know what a chapstick lesbian is, we had a great conversation about labels and why they're interesting

The term "butch" is not popular with her peers - the dichotomy is masc/femme rather than butch/femme. Interesting to consider this (lack of) usage alongside efforts to recentre and reexamine "butch"
