The stupid thing is that research indicates hardly anyone who voted Reform at the last election had ever voted for Labour in the previous 20 years - so are the undecideds likely to vote Labour because they want to be diet Reform on immigration?

The problem is that most of that wealth is likely tied up in property or shares, so can't easily be converted to cash (sell off a significant quantity of shares and the companies' share price will drop, while the value in properties can usually only be realised on sale).

So, as ever, London gets the lion's share of transport funding, leaving the rest of the country to fight over the remaining scraps. I wouldn't be at all surprised if, when HS2 eventually opens, the bulk of benefits will head South while the Midlands becomes housing overspill.

The Thanksgiving claim is particularly sneaky as to get the figures, they apparently omitted six items from the hypothetical basket of goods. But of course, as long as Donald is capable of standing and uttering comprehensible words (even if the order is nonsensical), the GOP will keep him in situ.

"building has almost come to a complete halt" - which begs the question of where he'll find builders, masons, glaziers etc. for his vanity project (oh, and if so, will they unwittingly be doing voluntary labour by not getting paid for the work?)

As do the Conservatives and Reform - both of which are also only likely to listen to any internal dissent if it's larger than internal support (c.f. proposed PIP reforms).

... So she decided it was out of control and couldn't be tamed so took it to a gravel pit and shot it. She then apparently returned home, picked up the family's aggressive male goat, and decided it needed to be dispatched the same way.

Apparently, she hoped to use the 14 month old dog as a gundog, but she seemingly didn't have a clue about how to train it, so on its first hunt it had a whale of a time chasing the birds, then when they stopped off En-route back, it allegedly slaughtered a flock of chickens...

Fat chance of them doing that when the entire right wing media machine are convinced children are indoctrinated into being Trans, Islam is evil (and many would like it eradicated from these shores), most people on disability benefits are faking it, public spending is inherently wasteful etc etc etc.

Just looked up how the UK does ATC. "NATS Holdings" (formerly National Air Traffic Services) is a public-private partnership: UK gov holds 49% + golden share, 42% is held by the Airline Group, 5% by NATS staff, and 4% by UK airport operator LHR Airports Ltd.

HS2 aside, we seem to be sleepwalking into Reform's vision of a country where public transport is not subsidised at all and it's an absolute last resort option, with bus / cycle lanes and LTNs ripped out and CAZ/LEZ scrapped as they're all "anti-car".

As usual with the Great British Weather, take a coat or brolly and it's feasible you may not have to use it. Forget them, and the weather will almost certainly punish you...
