I think I'm a bit weird in that the ending is usually the first thing that I discover about my stories. Most of my work is figuring out how everyone ended up there.

Same - some shorts come out more or less finished, but longer work always gets more discovered in the writing process for me.

I usually don't have too much trouble, though it's usually not a conscious decision. If I'm consistently writing, I naturally gravitate to it in my free time. When I'm struggling, I try to find answers in books, so I end up reading a lot more.

Though of course I try to always be reading.

Depends on my mood, honestly. When I don't have as many thoughts trying to get out, I enjoy reading more. But when I'm deep in a project and things are going well, nothing beats writing.
