Got really meditative with this grind and emerged 10 hours later with a Lvl 32 death squad.
I took down my first Lvl 11 enemy summoners with Samurai Ramza dual-wielding *his fists* while a Dancer wiped everyone else. Started Pokémon capturing enemies with an Orator too
FFT simply can’t be topped

Found an ancient photo album and realized my last trip to Japan was 10+ years ago already. COVID bulldozed a friends trip and we never re-scheduled.

Started buying PS3 games again. So many are hard to play and sometimes harder to find.

The opening 4 hours are a brutal slog of tutorials, but once Pokemon Legends Z-A gets going it has an awesome rhythm.
It becomes a Pokemon in fast-forward, and the day/night loop to raise tank is a great new way to give (the hollowed out) Lumiose City meaningful substance.

Played 2 hours of Ninja Gaiden 4 on Game Pass before remembering my physical copy arrives on PS5 today — whoops! Fortunately it thoroughly kicks ass and I can’t wait to replay some of those early brawls 😇

Act 1 of Metal Gear Solid 4 is as much of a white-knuckle stress overload as I remember it being in 2008. What a thrill ^_^
The stealth remains incredibly tense, and the action sequences are exciting and overwhelming.
Glad to have found a PS3 so I can finally replay Guns of the Patriots

Ivalice Chronicles is the right difficulty for me in Final Fantasy Tactics - a game I love that has always halted me very early!
Chapter 1 is such a strong opening act with so much to say. I’m so invested in these characters and this place’s power struggle already.

I’ve long admired Onimusha, I played and loved a demo in the 2000s but never got to it until the recent HD release — strong recommend! This is pinnacle PS2 stuff. And a tight 4 hour campaign that feels much longer and more dense than that ♥️

The cinematic presentation is fantastic throughout. It’s weird as hell. It takes itself just seriously enough. Combat is a great time. Modernizing these controls goes a long way — exploration and puzzle solving are a total joy.

Finally played through Onimusha for the first time and this is a stone-cold killer Capcom classic.
I’ve wanted to play these games for ages and the first is a lean, ferocious action RPG that wastes zero time. Really fast progression with enough depth to make you want to keep slaying demons

David Hayter is Snake, period, and I resisted Sutherland on sight in 2015 — but Kiefer’s performance as Venom is often wonderful, grounded, angry, and real. I like him a lot in this.

I’m 50+ hours deep into my MGSV replay and I’m really appreciating a lot that I didn’t the first time.

One Battle After Another has been rattling around in my head nonstop since I saw it, but I keep coming back “Send in Eddie Van Halen.”
It’s such a funny beat to setup a truly sinister, believable thing. Andor echoes this as well. I just wish it wasn’t something I dread every time I see ICE vids
