You should be able to get your island back if you are OK chatting with Nintendo support/calling them. You might still want to start over, but I just wanted to throw that out there in case you aren't aware. I just told them I lost my old Switch and they helped me recover it no problem.

Which model of MSI handheld is it? I’m not familiar with those if they have different tiers.
