Paperwork now complete, expenses all filled and sent. Coaching equipment.. all of it is going away for a month. Time for a well earned break now and a couple of presentations to celebrate the achievements of the 2 teams with a few fizzy pops.

59 games through the season with both my u12s and senior team as well as 3 sessions a week. It’s been a long season.

I’ve not had a presentation yet where I’ve not had a complaint, tantrum or the snide remarks. It’s the only thing that makes me sit and think about continuing the following season.

I could go on to be fair, we are also fast approaching the end of season presentations. What should be a time of celebration of the teams and individuals achievements over the season gone by but, I dread it. Every year, parents complaining their child didn’t win this or win that.. Honestly.

But parents, different story. I’ve lost count of the amount of tantrums I’ve had to deal with from them about the positions their child has played. It’s honestly the most frustrating part about running kids football teams.

In my 10 years of coaching I’ve had a grand total of 3 occasions where I’ve had a child complain about playing in a certain position. I like the boys/girls to rotate and experience all positions on the pitch, you gain different skills depending on the job you primarily have.
