Late season sunflowers. Haven't hit the first frost yet in the bowl of Albuquerque, but hoping to clip a bunch more before fall has fully settled in here. Already pulled a few pepper plants, and a lot of the marigolds are getting cut for friends, seeds, or dyeing over the next few days.

Feel infinitely lucky to have spent a significant amount of time going to concerts when I lived in the Twin Cities. And more people should know about Velvet Negroni. T.C.O.D, NEON BROWN, and Bulli are all dynamite albums.

Five years ago, I made a batch of hot sauce I dubbed "Powder Keg," because part of staying sane had included playing Sea of Thieves with friends in three other states, and I sent everyone a couple bottles. Realized today I should make it again with my last harvest of dragon peppers for the year.

Sent my brother a message with this image has now sprawled into a text-based RPG I am writing in real time to his responses since yesterday morning. I didn't prompt him with any other information. He hasn't asked any other questions thus far.

Goddamnit I forgot how great this comic is. Sitting at a coffee shop and already barreled through the first five issues. And this'll be the first I'm I ever read the final 15 of them.

Scanned some film last night that spanned December 2021 - March 2025 (I don't recommend letting a roll sit in your camera that long -- 3/5 of them didn't develop), and forgot there was a shot of Pixel.

Still too hot for my blood in Albuquerque, and I finally cleaned up some tomato overgrowth (a few are still too bushy, but, can't part with that much green). This is also the tallest my marigolds have ever gotten.
It ain't much but this year, but glad to have a small container garden all the same.

New glasses. Same dumb shit. First time with acetate frames since I started wearing glasses at 3 years old, and not having nose pads feels supremely strange as my first prescription-adjustment headache sets in.

All in all, not a bad day. And I ended up listening to a couple Buckethead albums, a few from System of a Down, and winding down the day with Mudvayne (most of which I have not listened to in years).

Inherited this African Milk Plant from a friend moving away from Albuquerque in 2019, and it's grown ~4.5 ft. and out of two pots, recently achieving table to ceiling height. Fortunately, this unexpected tippage didn't shatter the pot or snap off any limbs because of the position of the other table.
