Sensory issues are hell. I wash my face with hand soap because anything else is interpreted as "slime" by my brain even though my skin gets too dry, and I become upset when water is on my face for more than a minute, which often ends in roughly scratching it with a towel out of rage.

Growing up insecure about being mixed race really screwed with my head 'cause now I know my body actually *belongs* to me and isn't just an avatar to control. I *feel* like how I look, whereas child Mitch saw a stranger in mirrors.

There's this guy shouting "EYYY PENDEJOOOOOO" triumphantly in the distance to his construction buddies. I don't like loud noises, but this guy is so worth the drills and whatever sounds like giant sheets of metal falling. His enthusiasm can summon sunshine and puppies; that's how happy his tone is.
