Today is Election Day New Orleans. I voted for Helena Moreno. Make sure to get out and vote. The future of the city depends on it.

She’s tough, she’s smart, she knows what to do. She includes everybody in the work. That’s going to be important to the city going forward.

Early voting is underway. New Orleans, it's time to elect our new mayor. I'm with Helena Moreno.

She's best positioned to get NOLA back on track. It's time to move forward, together. @Helena

When storms, floods, or fires hit, people need leaders who act with urgency and compassion.

Tomorrow, I’ll be at UNC to talk about what true crisis leadership looks like and how communities can rise stronger together.

The stories are seared into our souls forever. The rushing flood pulling people under; survivors trapped for days, with little or no help. Thousands on rooftops. People trying to keep their heads above the water.

Out of many, one. It’s more than a motto; it’s a mandate. It’s the belief that our strength lies not in our sameness but in our willingness to stand together, especially when storms—literal and figurative—threaten to tear us apart.

I spent some time in Iowa this week with labor and other partners for @ab21.bsky.social's Working Class Project.

We continue to hear that Democrats need to get back to basics, focus on kitchen table economic issues, and talk like regular folks.

There is nothing better than spending time with the folks who keep our communities running. It’s always a reminder that real solutions start from the ground up, not the top down.

I had a great time with @afscme.bsky.social listening, learning, and working together.

Disasters don’t stop at state lines. The scope and scale of responding to major disasters require a strong federal partnership.

They lied to you. Donald Trump, and JD Vance, and the Republicans are not fighting for you or for your neighbors.

It may be big but it isn't beautiful. It's brutal. This Big Beautiful Bill will hurt so many American families.

We can’t find excellence if everybody is not invited and included. WE in We the People means everybody.

America can be tough. We can protect ourselves and be safe but we should not be cruel.

Budgets are moral documents. They show who we value and what we’re willing to fight for. This bill cuts support for the most vulnerable, the very people we should be fighting to lift up just to give tax breaks to the wealthy.

It’s Infrastructure Week, and we’ve got a lot to celebrate.

Pope Leo XIV has deep roots in New Orleans. His maternal grandparents lived in the Treme neighborhood of the Seventh Ward across from St. Augustine church.

Pope Leo XIV reminds us that faith isn’t distant. The seeds of peace, justice, and compassion are rooted in our own neighborhoods.

Today, I’m walking in Congo Square and celebrating International Jazz Day! Jazz is one of the many gifts New Orleans has given the world.

So turn on some jazz, take a walk, and remember that diversity is our strength not our weakness.

Trump’s first 100 days in office can only be described as a dumpster fire of epic proportions or as I like to call it, a Trumpster Fire.

It’s time to fight back!

Last week, I spoke at the Hampton Roads Social Justice Conference. I talked about the challenges facing communities across the south and what you can do to create a better, fairer, and more just country.

Pope Francis, with his humility and compassion, showed us that true leadership requires mercy, truth, and love.

My ethos in public service has always been rooted in my Catholic faith, but I felt a special connection to Pope Francis' work with the poor, migrants and the least among us. ⚜️
