Thank you for using your voice! I am incredibly frustrated with the Democratic Party’s silence with the exception of Bernie, AOC and Jasmine Crockett. The silence from the others, or performative activism (looking at you, Cory Booker) is deafening and telling.

Insurance is already a disaster in Louisiana, and makes buying a home cost-prohibitive. We do not plan to stay long-term and if FEMA is gutted, we’ll make plans to move sooner. As someone who has owned two prior homes, the thought of never being able to again is frustrating.

Thank you for being one of the few reputable journalists left who are dedicated to sharing the truth.

Thank you for being one of the only Democrats speaking out against Trump and these atrocities.

Do they though? Because they haven’t said squat about what the party is doing to fight back against MAGA. It’s been radio silence. They had every opportunity to prevent the train from going off the tracks. We need to primary every one of them not standing up for their constituents.

This! This! This! 👏🏼

Agree. People focus so much on state and federal positions but the really is MAGA started infiltrating at the local level first and built up to where they are now. We must deploy the same strategy but with less polarizing stances to meet folks where they are.

I 100% agree. It’s why the other third parties have not been successful. We need to met people where they are but my fear is people are so disillusioned with Democrats that our words may continue to fall on deaf ears.

The Dem Party here in Jefferson Parish is good as is the Young Dems of LA but it’s definitely not the case everywhere. My mom has tried unsuccessfully to get involved in her local Democratic Party in TN. I see other comments in this thread also where inquiries have got I responded. We need passion!

100%. They have got to go!
January 26, 2025 at 12:31 AM
So much this! With the exception of a few voices like AOC and Bernie, the Dems do not represent progressive values or the tenacity to fight back.
January 26, 2025 at 12:30 AM
Agreed! We need local leaders who can mobilize people to do exactly that. How do we mobilize the collective? There’s so many factions doing good work but we need a united front.I know here in the south, we’ve been pretty much forgotten about by the Democratic Party because we’re in a sea of red.
January 25, 2025 at 10:49 PM
On a serious note, how do we start a truly progressive, yet viable, party? I am so done with lukewarm, and frankly complicit, Democrats. I think it begins with letting them know they are no longer entitled to our votes simply because they don’t have an R by their name.

Thank you, Mark. Followed all accounts. As a nurse and adult with a congenital heart condition, getting factual information on what’s happening in the healthcare space is critically important.

He may have no interest but he’s also too stupid to understand the intricacies of government and legislation. Having ‘yes’ men that also know he is too stupid to understand is the dangerous part because they know how to manipulate to implement their fascist plans.

I’m in Louisiana with some of the worst MAGA lackeys so I know my words fall on deaf ears. BlueSky will be so important to fight misinformation but how do we mobilize in our communities? How do we organize the virtual collective to aligned, rather than fragmented, action?
