"Grief in the Human Experience: How Loss Shapes Us" reimagines grief not as something to overcome, but as an essential part of being human - a force that deepens love, strengthens bonds, & reshapes the way we live and remember.

This little guy is a baby desert tortoise. Mojave tortoise are a protected species.

We find these babies wandering in our yard until they wander back out... I hope to see him again when he’s a wee bit bigger than an inch.

Do you see only a mountain in front of you? Shift focus. Don't think about the climb. Look deeply & really see the mountain.

How deeply rooted in the earth. How ancient its wisdom. What is this mountain teaching me?

There is a quiet in the desert that soothes me. The hush wraps around me like a cloak. A stillness calls as I abandon my earthbound self. In the vastness, my thoughts are free to wander unrestrained among the stars.

I dream of the ages.

Have you ever howled at the moon?

As human beings, I believe our hearts yearn for that kind of freedom. That yearning often suspended by the highly constructed ways we live today.

Have you’ve heard the story of the Two Wolves, a parable attributed to the Cherokee people? The story gives insight into how we nurture ourselves, & as a result, how we show up in the world.

Most of us yearn to do more. To contribute something meaningful. We dream of doing something of significance. Something singular & lasting.

Imagine a clear view of what you might see up ahead for yourself.

Thoughts through an Anthropological Lens.

The way we live today is often counter to our deepest needs as human beings.

You see, we're not meant to live fragmented, disconnected lives.

Everyone is aware that, with every shovel & wheelbarrow of dirt removed, there will be a return of the soil from where it came.

Did you know that cholla can jump?

Archaeology involves work in all kinds of environments  & work done in deserts present unique challenges.

Staying hydrated & avoiding sunstroke are the more obvious...
