I've actually never played that one, the only Gloomhaven game I have played is Jaws of The Lion. That being said, I've never had a bad time with it. Though I haven't finished it yet just because of timing with other players.

How is Button & Bugs?

Everyone has just played so many versions of that same game; they seem nice to have when you have a group of non-boardgame people, but they are never memorable. My go-tos for group games are Don't Get Got and Wavelength. Both are unique and fun.
