FWIW, I think we find ourselves on the brink of WW3 b/c consecutive U.S govts on both sides of the aisle failed to address any real issues for the majority of Americans. Then add in an electoral process wide open to tampering, a billionaire tech tycoon w means & a bunch of power hungry narcissists.

I wasn’t saying you’d have trouble finding any, I was saying you’d have trouble finding any progressive enough to reshape the party in the direction it needs to go. Also, not enough women.

I just said the same thing to a friend. Hardest part is, they’d need to rebuild from the rubble and that would only happen with some genuine critical reflection and welcoming new blood that are less self serving, more centre focused and balanced mix of women. Met any young Liberals lately??? 🤯

Thing is, when there’s a very shallow pool of talent (mostly a bin fire of self interests) where do you go? If there’s no one willing to lead the charge of honest critical reflection, they’ll resign themselves to further dismantling the party until it’s unrecognisable and irrelevant.

I’ve already seen lots of videos on Insta, with Liberal voters (white guys) saying “It’s time for a reckoning!” and then going on to say the party needs to stop capitulating to the left and move further to the right. Completely (and dangerously) delusional. Disturbingly so.

Sadly, a combination of the two voted No in the referendum. It showed how vulnerable many Australians are to propaganda.
