I got a bunch of nerdy hobbies, but I will post here mainly about Marvel Champions LCG. And Marvel in general, I guess.
I'll be brutally honest, this is the lamest wave in the history of Marvel Champions.
Not splitting/breaking it up with something from Midnight Sons (Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, Blade) or Maximum Carnage (Eddie Brock Venom, Cloak & Dagger, Black Cat) just makes it all feel so bland.

Various spelling mistakes and other typing errors scattered throughout the book.
I found the running change of replacing the simple '?' with 'thought to be from…' endearing - except it was applied only to the final chapter.

Also, the 'Hizennnokuni' with three 'n' made it to the table of contents.

A friend lent me this cute book, 'Strange Japanese Yokai' by Kenji Murakami, translated by Zack Davisson, which she picked up in Japan, but one thing bothered me quite a bit… Did anyone actually proofread this? You can tell that whoever worked on the book, got really tired towards the end.

Got these two at last. Looking forward to flying high and minion-busting in Marvel Champions.

Cool how Winter Soldier is getting so many of the usual tools exclusive to Aggression aspect in his own kit. This way he won't be bound to building red decks.
Winter Mask is essentially a better Hall of Heroes with an added bonus of an extra trait - not seen very often in Marvel Champions LCG.

Probably should have posted a week ago about getting Silk and Shuri, but I kinda forgot.
They're very fun and better than I expected (Silk is quite tactical and Shuri's the better Black Panther). Based on the last 4 heroes we got, I'm very excited for what's coming to Marvel Champions LCG this year!

I wonder how many Safe Houses does Marvel Champions LCG still hold in store. Admittedly, they're incredibly thematic for characters operating in secrecy, so their inclusion is hardly surprising.
Love the effect of searching the encounter deck for a specific minion, will work well with Bucky.

Oh my, giving an offense-oriented hero a defense card easily negating all damage from an attack sounds too good to be true. Even if you're not expecting a huge enemy attack, getting to deal 4 damage for 2 effective resources on top of it all is a high value play in Marvel Champions LCG.

Yeah, we'll be seeing more 'discard this card after X' upgrades in Marvel Champions LCG and Silent Infiltration highlights that.
I think it might be a bit too expensive, but at the same time the effect (ready and confuse) is pretty strong on top of being a Preparation.

Honestly, I had no idea Winter Soldier's arm has an electrocuting ability. But even if it's not used very often in the comics, I'm glad his kit in Marvel Champions LCG includes a card that can reliably (thanks, Bionic Arm) stun enemies - 11 hit points isn't THAT much, after all.
April 21, 2025 at 9:36 PM
I guess straightforward attack events in Marvel Champions LCG like this are the best. No additional conditions to meet, just a neat bonus if you happen to use a tool you have an access to from turn one.
Verly likely to be the simplest card in Winter Soldier's kit, though.

Cybernetic Arm alone will make Winter Soldier a solid hero - everything else is a bonus. Getting a resource generator and attack damage increase on turn one is quite a luxury in Marvel Champions LCG.
Plenty of room left for cards to patch up his blind spots.

Having an Alter-Ego ability that's useful only once a game (unless bad things happen), but very impactful, is usually preferable to weak AE abilities, I suppose.
It's not super consistent, but I really like when characters in Marvel Champions LCG get thematic mechanics.

Just in time for Thunderbolts* theatrical release, FFG announces Winter Soldier hero pack for Marvel Champions LCG.
Looks pretty solid, should do well even without minions to activate Lethal Protector - traits alone (including SPY) will give him a lot of deck building options.

I'm fairly certain the 'current environment' thing coming to Marvel Champions LCG next year isn't meant for our favorite cards, but rather stuff like Civic Duty.
There's quite a number of basics that never really saw much play, but still occupy design space that could be used more efficiently.

How fun! Last month I found out the locally manufactured sleeves I've been using for Marvel Champions LCG are out of production. Luckily, the manufacturer was kind enough to make an improved version… except longer.
Managed to find similar sleeves (still 1mm longer) of good quality.

Yes, reprints of player side schemes will be greatly appreciated. They were one of the biggest changes to strategy in Marvel Champions LCG and being limited to just one copy between 3-4 players could be annoying sometimes.
Just don't forget to print some new ones as well.

And we went a full circle to the core box of Marvel Champions LCG in which T'Challa's deck revolved around playing Wakanda Forever.
While it makes sense for Shuri to have that card as well, it feels a tad weird since her kit is so much different. Still, an interesting design choice.
April 13, 2025 at 9:28 PM
Redemption looks like such a fun card and I can't believe that we keep getting more interesting mechanics like that in Marvel Champions LCG over 5 years after the game's release.
This could be a great way of dealing with Nemeses after playing Face the Past. Cable and Fury will will love it.
April 12, 2025 at 9:40 PM
Yeah, with Shuri in hero form relying on her basic powers to trigger additional effects, a healing utility in her kit was a necessity (and a rare luxury in Marvel Champions LCG).
It's neat that Queen Ramonda can be used to heal another Wakanda hero - shame we'll probably ever have only two.
April 11, 2025 at 9:56 PM
The Elephant's Trunk is quite a powerful card draw tool. While exhausting allies to draw cards (via event cards) has been in Marvel Champions LCG from the very early days, getting an utility like this in hero's kit is a luxury for sure, even if it's Alter-Ego only.
April 10, 2025 at 9:23 PM
To be perfectly honest, I kind of expected the Dora Milaje allies in Marvel Champions LCG to be something… fancier.
I don't even mean that they're weak or anything, just don't seem very exciting.
Something for Wakanda heroes (whole 2 of them) to sink their resources into, I suppose.
April 9, 2025 at 9:50 PM
More deck manipulation for Justice isn't surprising, but means of pulling minion from the deck in that color? That's pretty novel.
At first the card text might seem a bit convoluted by Marvel Champions LCG standards, but it's actually quite a straightforward (and flexible) effect.
April 8, 2025 at 5:53 PM
I think the 'minion beating' archetype in Marvel Champions LCG is in desperate need of new tools, as 'discard cards from the encounter deck' effects simply aren't enough. Target Spotter looks like a step in the right direction.
Getting more S.H.I.E.L.D. supports should prove useful as well.
April 7, 2025 at 8:51 PM
Outwit will probably set Silk as one of the best 'main scheme busters' in Marvel Champions LCG. Her kit definitely gives her enough tools to collect 4 cards from the right encounter set to do a basic thwart for 6.
I have a feeling she's going to be a great character for veteran players.
