I once bought a groupon to a Persian restaurant that was very clearly a front for mobsters. The dining room doubled as a dance floor, complete with a disco ball and gold accents. My date and I were the ONLY people eating there while the staff watched us eat.
It was MUCH less gaudy than this.

Because sure, maybe the lock is rusted, or the guard is scratching his eyes and doesn't notice you sneaking past.

This is why as a DM I do a lot of the rolls when it's for information OR I roll everything else as a check against what they rolled.
Then they FEEL like they might have done a bad job, but then don't know if the thing they're rolling against might have done a worse job.
