Bites though, right. People paid taxes and what they got was an NHS, a national grid, a telephone system, a brilliant post office and a maligned rail service, and millions of other things. All flogged off. Now we pay more so Alice can afford a baked potato after working a 64 hour shift in A&E. Sad.
