I think it’s more that our cameras have gotten very good at picking aurora out so there are more times when people see or take pictures where before they wouldn’t have seen anything with the naked eye and would have stopped looking after a couple minutes

Turns out all my coping mechanisms were based on CBT (*snicker*) style fact-checks, so when mundane things started being legitimately dangerous in 2020, I absolutely did not know how to handle it.
