The thing that appears to make Outlaws so particularly impressive is that it only uses dynamic ray traced lighting. There’s no baked in lighting whatsoever.

Not only is it complete on cartridge, it actually contains the Switch version plus the Switch 2 upgrade. If you put the Switch 2 cartridge into an OG Switch, it will boot up that version of the game. Marvelous does what Square Enix apparently cannot.

Basically all Switch 1 games run on Switch 2. I’d guess the differences come down to load times, asset quality, and resolution. I don’t imagine it would be as significant a difference as Tears of the Kingdom on Switch v Switch 2, for example, but I’m not sure anyone can answer that at this point.

Switch 1 version is just a standard cartridge. There’s no way to upgrade it to the Switch 2 after the fact.
