I stumbled across this state park when I went on a similar road trip a few years ago. I found it very moving to hike part of the Trail of Tears.

Oh and if you go to the Clinton Presidential Library, you can take a picture with a replica of the resolute desk. It’s pretty neat.

I really liked Hot Springs, Arkansas! And there’s some really good hiking in the Ozarks. I don’t have great Mississippi tips, but you can see The Birthplace of Kermit the Frog
