Everybody should read this. Talk about coups and the like is not helping, and in fact may give Trump what he wants. What does help is when you laugh at the foolishness of this strategy. He's setting himself up for a reckoning when things fall apart.

Look closely at the first two weeks of Donald Trump’s second term and you’ll see something very different than what he wants you to see.

Remember when "Who's the Boss?" was a delightful sitcom and not a management style?

Good grief! I'm overhearing the lamest of all conversations between a staffer and a problem patron about music. It might not be so bad if they could remember anyone's name. Eye roll, eye roll, eye roll. #pleasemakeitstop

Poll: A patron dropped off Christmas cards to all the library staff. They featured a Nativity scene and Bible verses. Each employee also got an insert. Some folks got jokes, some of us (me) got a guide to the 10 Commandments called "Are you a good person?" Is this harassment? Feels like it.

I'm tired of being told to keep smiling when faced with aggressive patrons and community members. I don't need to be told that I have a bad attitude when I'm telling the truth. I need real, present support at my job.

It's been rough at the library lately. But we have some great patrons. Like the guy who painted us gourds with Santa and elves. It's strange but funny and makes people smile. #librarylife

What I'm reading: Where the Library Hides by Isabel Ibanez for fun, Gracie Under the Waves by Linda Sue Parker for a committee, At Bertram's Hotel by Agatha Christie for a minute because I was bored, and Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin to my daughter.

Big news! I have signed a contract with Lawley Publishing for my first picture book. The Snack Thief is about a boy whose snack is stolen every day and the plan he hatched to catch the thief. It's a work in progress so stay tuned for more news. #snackthiefbook #lawleypublishing

This copy of The Willoughbys Return is a library book that I got through interlibrary loan. No mylar on the cover. It's not even taped down. How can they live like this! #readerlife #librarylife

I can't possibly be the only one to check out a book from the library (or buy a copy) and never read it. I just hope to magically absorb the wisdom within. #readerlife #toomanybooks
