The class created this amazing display inspired by our class novel Framed by Frank Cottrell Boyce. Everyone spray-painted the frames, created pointillism artwork, and mapped famous art heists with QR-linked presentations. Fantastic teamwork all around!🖼️🖌️

In Art, we are exploring the next movement in time — Postmodernism!🎨🖌️We’ve taken inspiration from the work of Vincent van Gogh to create our own unique pieces of art.🖼️ Students have enjoyed experimenting with colour, texture, and emotion in their creations.🧑‍🎨

In Numeracy, we have also been putting our rounding and estimating skills to good use in a fun group card game! Students worked together to use quick thinking, teamwork, and strategy while practising their maths skills.🃏👏🏼

Recently in Numeracy, we’ve been practicing our rounding and estimating skills. We used a number wheel to generate numbers, then challenged ourselves to round them and record our answers accurately. Everyone has been working hard and growing more confident with their number sense!🎡😄

Last week, we boosted our writing skills by exploring synonyms for different adjectives in groups. Then, after some fun, fast-paced thesaurus races, we used our new vocabulary to enhance and polish our stories!✏️🌟

Last term in numeracy, we explored place value to help us become more confident with addition and subtraction. We had fun using a random number generator to make two-, three-, and four-digit numbers and used them to practise our skills!

We had an amazing time at our PJ party today! We watched the Minecraft movie while enjoying tasty snacks and juice. One of the best moments was our fun singalong to the Chicken Jockey song—it had everyone joining in! 🧃🍿

Primary 1R have earned a special Reward Pyjama Day in class this Thursday, 26th June. Pupils are invited to come to school dressed in their pyjamas and may also bring a blanket/ pillow/ teddy to help them get cosy.🧸

As part of funday we had the opportunity to meet Binfluencer, one of Falkirk Council’s new monster trucks for waste management!💪 Powered by HVO, a renewable fuel made from waste oils, it’s helping cut emissions and reduce diesel use. ♻️

Today we explored the Titanic by investigating buoyancy. 🛟 We tested classroom objects to see if they sank or floated, then built our own tin foil Titanic boats and tested them with pebbles.🚢 Finally, we simulated the sinking by “hitting an iceberg” and observing how a breach affected buoyancy.🧊

Recently, we’ve been diving into the fascinating topic of the Titanic.🚢 Pupils explored the ship’s journey, identified the port countries on a map, and even created their own boarding passes in the message centre to use during role play.🌊🎟️

In numeracy recently, we've been busy strengthening our understanding of doubles!
Using a dice, we rolled a number, found the matching Numicon piece, then doubled it. Finally, we wrote out the number sentences to show our thinking.😁😁🙌🏼🙌🏼

Next week 19th - 23rd May is Walk to School Week! This year’s challenge will see pupils take on The Great Space Walk, encouraging them to travel actively to school. On Friday afternoon, we made the most of the beautiful weather by taking some of our favourite activities outside! From making bird feeders and reading in our cozy story tent, to splashing in water play, digging in the sand, playing with the football, enjoying lively parachute games, and more.☀️📖⚽️
