Our street lights are on, the fog is so thick I can’t see the church but only the lights illuminating the church tower are casting an eerie shine in the background. The houses on the other side of the street are merely vaguely visible and only the bushes and trees on the border of our garden are clearly visible.

The one and only MrFancyPants#Handsome did most of the work and the results were so good we‘ll have this awesome meal again tomorrow.
We recently subscribed to CrowdFarming and are blown away with the quality of produce we got.
Salad w/ lambs lettuce, mild red chilies, pink onions from Brittany and a ripe mango from the south of France. Oat cakes w/ marjoram, fennel seeds and caramelised onions. All vegan. Leave a comment if you’re interested in the recipe.

A white mug with a spoon sticking in an ugly looking dark brown mass which indeed is a quick instant chocolate cup cake: 4 tbl sps flour 6 tbl sps plant based milk 2 tbl sps dark cocoa powder 1-2 tbl sps sugar 1 -2 tbl oil A pinch of baking powder and lemon juice Stir, microwave for appr. 2 minutes I added a generous dash of date syrup. You can add nuts, raisins, chocolate chips or whatever. I used half whole wheat flour bc I’ve run out of anything else. So it’s almost healthy.

Peter and David were sweet, kind, funny, caring and mad as hatters. They loved each other deeply.
It was in one of the most beautiful places where we met them and it was where we learned they hadn’t survived the attacks on the Twin Towers.

A lane in Sark: On the left a few young birch trees and on the right a hedge with a couple of smallish trees plus the usual embankments. Further along the lane is overshadowed by mature maple, elm, oak and lime trees. The road is not paved or anything but a sandy dirt road. The sky is mostly cast over with sunny spells, the morning light is still very bright and the colours very vibrant. There’s no one else to be seen.

Libanesische Mangold-Bohnensuppe: Kartoffeln, Zwiebeln, Knoblauch, Cannelinibohnen, Mangold mit geräuchertem Paprika, Salz, Zucker, Chili, Piment, Sumac in Olivenöl anschwitzen, Gemüsebrühe zum Ablöschen, köcheln lassen bis Kartoffeln gar sind. Zitronensaft und etwas Zeste dazu. Frische Petersilie drüber. Für den Speck Reispapier anfeuchten, doppellagig falten, in Streifen schneiden, Marinade: 3 - 4 EL Sojasauce, 1-2 EL Dattelsirup, 1 TL Senf, 1 TL Tomatenmark, 1 TL liquid Smoke, 1/2 TL geräucherter Paprika, Knoblauch/Zwiebelpulver, 2 EL neutrales Öl (hoch erhitzbar) verrühren Streifen durch Marinade ziehen, auf Backpapier legen und im vorgeheizten Ofen bei 190°C O/Uhitze ca 10 Minuten backen (beobachten!), wird beim Abkühlen knuspriger

Die 2 dürfen noch gar nicht raus. Sie toben wie Teenager auf frisierten Mopeds durchs Haus und knallen regelmäßig gegen Möbel, Türen, Ecken etc.
Zwei etwa 1 Jahr alte Kitten liegen zusammen, so dass sie fast ein Herz bilden. Links eine schwarze, eher kleine Katze und rechts ein getigerter langbeiniger Kater. Beide schauen aufmerksam in die Kamera. Sie liegen auf einer beige/weiss gemusterten Bettwäsche (große Punkte / Rankenmuster)
