I need y’all to start getting into classic soap operas (and the new one that just premiered this year!!!) and channel all that unhinged energy into a soap opera renaissance. You have literal DECADES of characters and ships for edits and fanfics, the world’s your oyster!

together against all odds. There’s no feeling of a moth being drawn to a flame. If the soap genre is going to survive, writers need to bring back the supercouples, that’s how you build history and create legacy characters to keep a show going.

supercouples of soaps in the 80s/90s and even 00s. There’s no investment in a couple’s story anymore, no buildup of history, there’s no reason why I as a viewer, despite knowing that realistically the dynamics between couples on soaps are almost borderline toxic, should be rooting for them to be-

Lmao it was Molly and Holden, when they briefly reunited towards the show’s end 😩 sorry, I’m still bitter Holden and Lily didn’t canonically reunite, I loved them and their family.
