There’s interest costs, and they’re chunky, but it is an option. (Again, they don’t want to incentivise people to hold on).

Well, if the Greens are going to be a bigger part of the conversation, I’m going to need to learn a bit more about their history, so I’ve dug out this 1984 classic… (Just before they changed their name, they were still the Ecology Party!)

I see you, senior Tory, giving away your millennial roots…

Can anyone else spot the tell?

In truth, though, most employers don’t care. I believe Caplan is correct in saying what qualifications do is show a trifecta of intelligence, conformity and conscientiousness and that’s a handy combo for them.

Ages since a Schools Week first paragraph raised my eyebrows quite so high! 😮

Last week at Labour Conference there was lots of chat about wanting to give children more choice over what they learn.

But it always prompts me to think of this question. It’s a good challenge.

Bit baffled on this. Can anyone help? I thought all pupils could doodle during exams and then just cross the doodle out (if any danger of it being marked?!)

Someone sent me this recently and it’s so perfect

I really hope they write this up but as an official looking report.

There’s a wonderful bit in Ece Temelkuran’s book on how counties fall to dictators. She notes the below (on feeling mediocre) and the power of being told “It’s not you, (who is mediocre), it is them holding you back from greatness”

There are “transformative changes to Right to Buy” < WHAT ARE THEY, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD?

There are also “other measures” to do various abstract nouns. (No idea).

More Capital Lettered Things.

Wait, what is the Bank? That sounds good. SAY MORE ABOUT THE BANK!

Missed this from Guardian a few day…

Apparently leaked Ofsted docs give new grade names for the new framework.

Strong will become ‘strong standard’ and secure will become ‘expected standard’

After all having strong and standard pass grades has worked so well… 👀 🤦🏼‍♀️

Even when it’s Disney… I’d still take the cover lessons 😆 (via @teachertapp.bsky.social)

Currently testing a new feature on @teachertapp.bsky.social that will let you see how results change for teachers ‘like you’ vs whole population.

Here’s how yesterday’s results look different for everyone vs secondary SLT (my testing persona!)

Sound useful?

Eek, almost even split between teachers wanting an annual pay award vs multi-year one.

That never makes life easy for politicians!

I just got it to write the causes of World War One and then asked for what’s wrong with the answer. Job done. (I still don’t know which answer is right).

It’s soppy and silly, but seeing Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes acting together has genuinely brightened me day. ❤️

It may be a Dawson’s rewatch summer.

Important question on Teacher Tapp today…

We are asking for your views on SEND reform. We will pull them together to share with government ahead of their planned white paper.

Please do open Teacher Tapp today to get involved: TeacherTapp.co.uk

Elastic shoelaces? Let me introduce you to slip on shoes… (or, with my trainers, tucking the laces in and never bothering with them again).

Adding you to my list of invitees for the next time Steve Page is in town. (I’m always amazed how few people go to his concerts).
