Mercedes had it. They just completely blew it with how they have handled the post 2021 era. It’s been a master class in throwing a good thing away 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Absolutely - my younger sister slept through 92 Silverstone in buggy next to the track 🤣 of course there’s the great championship critical crashes of Schumacher, Senna, Prost but these were in the control of the driver - 2021 was the most significant rules based screw up in my memory….

What makes me laugh is that every major scandal of the previous era has some connection to Alonso 🤷‍♀️🤣 I admire the guy but he was right there in Spygate, Crashgate & the infamous McLaren 2007 season. #F1 often rewards plausible deniability & the sneakiest 🙈

💯they have just compounded mistake upon mistake. Sweeping 2021 under the carpet - gaslighting on a grand scale & doing the entire sport a massive disservice in the process. Then digging in despite everything showing they were going in wrong direction 🤦‍♀️

I was brought up on #F1 - my first race was 1992. I can remember very few comparable WTAF moments in something playing out in real time like that 🤷‍♀️

Of course hindsight is great & maybe Mercedes approach would have worked if they came in 2022, the car was a beast & LH won the title. But that didn’t happen. What we see now is result of 3 yrs of epic failure on top of the disaster of 2021. There’s no way back for this partnership.

I think it’s clear now that you can’t really just “move on” from something like this - as they tried to do. As an F1 fan since the early 90’s for me it has become one of those defining moments in the sport. It was always be talked about…..
