I am wondering if this is just step one in a plan to update the warning system in Canada. Apparently storm based warnings are something being worked on, and have been internally tested over last summer. Give people some time to adjust before the is another change.

I think the type of alert (snow squall, thunderstorm, etc) should be first and then the colour after. I might see that it is for yellow and ignore it completely and it actually be tornado related or something. Or just assume something is a watch rather than a warning.

I like the idea of it. I just think the colour and threat should chance order. Like, if I see a yellow I may ignore it or put off a warning more and not both reading the rest of the line and it be a tornado or something. This is just as a lay-weather watcher.

Honestly, putting the colour level in brackets after makes more sense to me. I have to get through information before trying to assess what type of threat is possible. The potential threat makes sense to be first, then how immediate second.
