It’s no straw man. I am mirroring back to you that females exclude males for a variety of valid reasons.
There has been a significant push in parts of the trans community to call lesbians bigots for excluding trans women from their dating pool (calling it the cotton ceiling).

No, it was women who pushed back, the women you call bigots. And they/we keep pushing back because women having boundaries isn’t hate. But we live in such a profoundly misogynistic society that the only women that many people want to protect or who they see as vulnerable are the male ones.
