That is a very good point. I think the rationale is so that students get an experience of a gcse exam ahead of the pressures of year 11.

I complete the assessment but making all the common mistakes/misconceptions that were made on each question. Students go through “my paper” in pairs having to work out what the mistake was, correct it and try and explain why the mistake was made. Then I’ll give papers back.
