Just started a playthrough of Star Ocean: First Departure R, and I had forgotten how much fun the combat was in this game. I've just reached the point where I'm going to be doing a save-split. One save will be recruiting half of the optional cast, the other save will recruit the other half.

I think the worst part of leveling in Synchro Mode is finding a shiny. You have to hope you’re close enough that it doesn’t despawn when you return to the trainer.
Of course … I couldn’t chase it back, because I think it’s AI was broke. I did manage to catch it, though.
