Improv requires trust, and the two classes I’ve been in feel like they quickly formed into real communities. I don’t have many other communities, making it extra valuable to me.

I’m in level 2 and still not good at it, but it one of the few hobbies I’ve allowed myself to enjoy without being good at. My teaching philosophy is all about the importance of learning from mistakes and the power of failure, but I rarely apply that to myself.

My classmate noted that it requires so much focus that everything else in your life just disappears. It is an even better escape than reading or tv.

Any anxiety left in my body was converted to play energy, and I never thought about anything outside the class all night.
