What if hypothetically I were a contractor for a large multilateral organization teaching English lessons? They'd still need English lessons, right? Right!? 😬

I don't work in tech, so I don't get how this affects me, even if it is true.

Unintentionally! But, yes, it was pretty cool that everyone was trilingual, except him of course.

But, yeah, I have teaching accounts with a few different platforms. None of them pay well by my standards, but some people are able to make a living that way. I'll need to change soon.

Oh, yeah! I saw that from italki. I called them out on Twitter about it, and their response was defensive "Oh, we'd never replace our tutors with AI." I'm not sure about Preply, but my profile is inactive.

What have you heard bad about them? Technically, I work for them because I have an inactive tutor profile, but I think there are better places to work than a language marketplace.

Languages have always been wondrously impractical. Something to be played with, to dance with, to tell riddles, and jokes. English and Spanish are becoming workhorses shackled to the yoke of practicality. How do I set them free again? I want to see them dance.

My NPC was lonely and thought he'd found new friends. However, my players wanted him to go away. Rather than asking him to leave (or rudely telling him off), they violently attacked him. As the GM, I was completely caught off guard and had to scramble to think through the consequences.

Colombia is really interesting because each region has its own distinct accent with different intonation, vocabulary, and slang. Bogotá is considered a "neutral accent." But it's also bizarrely formal compared to say Mexico.

Yeah, usually I'm fine with so called "AI art," but while teaching I want to show real images, rather than some CGI stylized rending.
