The problem is that the player needs his hands free to operate the jetpack, so the game is played in two stages. The bottom part of the arena features a roller-skating rink where a mixture of Rollerball/roller derby and hockey is played.

I based the design on Rollerball (of course), on that adorable ’80s film Solarbabies (the hockey stick), and on a ruthless game called “Dwarfball,” which appears in the Franco-British comic book Sha by Mills and Ledroit (the jetpack).

But the thing with Andy Warhol, I think, is that when he was, for example, setting up Brillo Boxes in an art gallery, he did so with his tongue at least partly lodged in his cheek. 2/
