I’m a kitty from Donetsk. Some soldiers rescued me from the front & now I’m helping keep them safe!

Thank you so much! We are currently fundraising for winter supplies, including thermal underwear ($25/set) & boots ($65/pair) for Anatolii and his unit Vyr in the Sumy region. Their town has the misfortune of bordering russia.

Today, Rostyslav is safely back in Ukraine. He loves photography & dreams of telling stories through his pictures one day.

Each of these children is not just a statistic. They’re real, living human beings with names, histories, hopes, & people who love them. Please continue to share their stories.

One of them was Rostyslav, a young teen living alone in Kherson when russian soldiers came to his home & took him away. He was held, often in solitary confinement & beaten. He was forced to sing the 🇷🇺 national anthem. Had he not been rescued, he likely would have been forced to fight against 🇺🇦

Last year, we had the honor of visiting Save Ukraine as part of former Congressman David Bonior’s delegation. There, we met children who‘d been rescued from🇷🇺. Many come from the most vulnerable backgrounds—orphans, children in poverty, single-parent households, & those struggling w/ mental health.

✨ A while ago, we asked why you support Ukraine’s defenders — and what message you’d like to share with them. We received so many beautiful responses! Each week this month, we’ll share one of your messages of love and encouragement.

There are no words to express our gratitude for those defending Ukraine — both those protecting their homes and those who left theirs to stand beside them. They endure freezing cold, danger, and exhaustion so that freedom and dignity can live on. 🇺🇦

We are so thankful to everyone who continues to remember and support Ukraine’s defenders. Nearly four years after russia’s full-scale invasion, every share, donation, and kind word still matters more than ever. 🙏

For them, these weren’t just items of clothing. They were reminders that people still care. They were peace of mind knowing the boots won’t fall apart, the uniforms won’t rip, & they won’t have to worry about finding replacements soon. When the basics are covered, defenders can focus on protecting 🇺🇦

This beautiful message comes from Anatolii and everyone in Vyr. It may sound scripted, but it’s entirely from Anatolii’s heart. He sent it to us this summer after we — together with @rodentdivision.bsky.social & @ukrainedefensesupport.org — provided Vyr with high-quality summer boots and uniforms.
